The true cost of Wedding Dresses
why do they cost what they do….?
We know that a wedding dress is a huge emotional and financial investment. So we wanted to explain why you should invest in the best when it comes to your wedding dress.
We believe low cost mass produced clothing has altered our perception of the true cost of handmade clothes.
Sourcing quality fabrics, investing in design, manufacturing to ethical standards and above all hand-cutting and individually making each garment is time consuming.
A lot of the hours go in to making sure everything is running smoothly, so that the customer knows only the best possible service. For many small business owners they are working until late at night, trying to make sure your wedding goes as smoothly as if it were their own.
If you were to compare the cost of an average wedding dress to that of haute couture, they actually represent very good value for money. Especially when you consider you are having a dress made just for you in the highest quality fabrics and with individual service from your designer.
We pride ourselves on our customer service, and within our team we have over 50 years of experience working within the wedding dress industry. We constantly feel the need to justify our prices and so with this blog we hope we have put your minds to rest.
Saying this, we believe our gowns are not as expensive as you might expect, most of the best-selling styles fall in the £1,800-£2,500 price bracket.
We also know that forms of mass production aren’t great for the environment, and the workers are not paid fairly or in the best conditions.
This also means that the quality of the items themselves can be less than perfect. And when you’re looking for your wedding dress, it makes sense to look for something that’s ‘more’ than you would ordinarily. And so, whatever your budget, we know that the perfect dress will be out there for you.
